Monday, August 13 at 19:00 (7pm) server time we will take down both realms for a quick backup before performing maintenance on both realms.

To prevent widespread player death due to utter boredom, the plan is to take down only one realm at a time. ;) Arthas will remain offline for several hours after the backup. Once Arthas maintenance is complete and the realm is back online, Deathwing will be taken down for a shorter time.

If you currently only have access to one realm and are interested in playing on the available realm during maintenance, please see the Connection Guides for Arthas and Deathwing.

Out-of-Game services (TeamSpeak, IRC and Forums) will remain available during maintenance.

Information and updates about the progress of maintenance and expected downtime will be provided via server alert and in-game announcements during the process.

However, yes, we are doing some cleanup and backup database-side which of course is very important for the continued safety and well-being of your characters and accounts. :)
